POSITION SPECIFICS

The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) is seeking applicants for a Research Project Manager (Intermediate Professional) to provide project management expertise to SSRI meetings, events, programming, and activities in support of the SSRI mission.

The position reports to the Director of the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) and interacts regularly with other members of the SSRI Executive Committee, SSRI staff, SSRI unit leaders and faculty situated across multiple university colleges and departments, as well as other external constituents and stakeholders.

Responsibilities: Following are the key responsibilities of the position:

  • Provide project management leadership, vision, and tracking of relevant outcomes for existing and new SSRI activities, projects, events, and strategic planning efforts as assigned.
  • Contribute to the development of internal and external funding applications that will support SSRI programming, infrastructure, and strategic priorities.
  • Support research activities of SSRI teams, including data collection, data analysis, and the development of manuscripts for publications.
  • Communicate regularly with SSRI leadership, faculty and staff, project collaborators and sponsors, advisory board members, and other constituencies to identify SSRI-related project needs or opportunities, participate in and contribute to executive team, workgroup, or project meetings to communicate project timelines, milestones, and updates.
  • Prepare written briefs and communications related to SSRI activities to be distributed to SSRI staff, unit leaders, SSRI communications outlets, state or local collaborators, and other stakeholders and constituencies.
  • Provide guidance and direction to other staff, especially as it pertains to the use of tools for effective project management, or the implementation of SSRI events and activities.
  • Support SSRI leadership and staff in annual reporting, including contributing to the receipt and production of necessary data and drafting report documentation.

Requirements include the following:

  • Responsibility, initiative, and good judgment.
  • Knowledge of program implementation methods and experience in program management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with program evaluation including use of tools such as evaluation tools, such as Qualtrics, the use of planning approaches such as logic models, as well as tracking methods.
  • Evidence of strong organizational, analytical, and professional writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments, including proven ability to manage time effectively to manage project timelines without losing sight of the high priority items.
  • Knowledge of and experience with both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of and experience with both statistical data analysis techniques utilizing software such as SPSS, SAS, or STATA, and database and spreadsheet software such as or Microsoft Excel and Qualtrics.
  • Dedication to working with a diverse team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of responsiveness.
  • Excellent customer services skills.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Master's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
