KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate in our US Legal Business Services (LBS) practice to join our growing team. LBS team members work closely with other KPMG service teams, including KPMG Law US and foreign member firm legal practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Help execute on LBS engagements for legal department and law firm clients across LBS's three service lines: Legal Managed Services, Legal Operations Consulting, and Legal Technology Innovation; manage services engagements for legal departments; strategic assessments for legal teams; legal technology optimization, selections and implementations, including CLM and Gen AI applications for legal teams; monitor organizational/target operating model design initiatives; legal/business process improvements; governance models; legal metrics and data; strategic modeling and impact analysis; legal resourcing strategies, and the like
  • Provide input into engagement decisions regarding work plan and timelines, project management, resource allocation, and career development of staff members
  • Advise best practice recommendations to leadership as to how to integrate process improvement and change management activities
  • Develop and analyze metrics, performance measurements, requirements, reports / recommendations related to management, organizational structure, and policies / procedures
  • Design, develop, manage, and document processes and project plans in a complex, dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing client requirements
  • Support the selection, implementation and execution of legal technologies including Enterprise Legal Management, Contract Lifecycle Management, eBilling, Matter Management
Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years of recent prior experience working in legal business consulting, legal technology innovation, and/or legal managed services; experience could include, among other things, work in a consulting/advisory firm on behalf of legal teams; time spent in the legal technology field (e.g., at a legal technology provider or implementation partner); experience in a legal department, law firm, management, operations and/or work in the field of legal-related data and analytics
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Understanding of business transformation, functional processes, financial management, technology, resourcing, performance management, and change management relating to corporate legal departments, law firms, and other legal-sector related businesses
  • Experience identifying potential business and operations risks in areas such as, legal department performance, internal control / risk assessment, transformation and change management processes; prior experience preparing and conducting business analysis and studies, needs assessments, requirement analysis / definition, and cost benefit analysis
  • Ability to work in and support a team environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
