Job Description

The Director, Account Management - Strategic Partnerships will serve as the primary relationship and business lead for a select group of Visa's most innovative and influential fintech partnerships. These clients are shaping the future of financial technology, rapidly evolving their offerings across digital assets, brokerage, and consumer finance. In this externally facing and highly strategic role, you will act as a trusted advisor, growth architect, and ambassador for Visa, responsible for developing and executing holistic partnership strategies, championing Visa's capabilities, and orchestrating cross-functional teams to drive innovation and tangible business results. Success in this role will require strong industry fluency, executive presence, collaborative leadership, and a passion for building deep, strategic relationships in a rapidly evolving landscape. The role requires an experienced network payments professional with account management or business development experience.

Key Responsibilities

Account Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary relationship lead for Tier 1 fintech partners, owning the holistic account plans and orchestrating cross-functional teams to deliver on shared objectives.
  • Identify and pursue high-impact partnership opportunities, whether new product launches, pilots, or innovative joint solutions.
  • Maintain a pulse on market trends, regulatory developments, and the evolving competitive landscape. Proactively advise Visa leadership and clients on implications and opportunities.
  • Build and nurture strong, multi-level relationships with client executives and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support throughout both organizations.

Business Development & Execution

  • Drive the end-to-end deal process: from opportunity identification and ideation, through negotiation, contracting, and execution.
  • Deliver against key sales and business growth metrics, ensuring Visa's offerings are front-of-mind as our clients expand.
  • Collaborate with Product, Legal, Finance, Risk, and other internal teams to move as quickly as our partners and support ongoing program success.

Thought Leadership & Communication

  • Represent Visa as a segment expert in the dynamic crypto and brokerage ecosystem and bring a strategic perspective and credible voice to internal and external discussions.
  • Educate Visa teams on market developments and partner priorities, influencing broader company strategy.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and status updates to internal and client leadership.

Innovation & Product Solutioning

  • Partner with clients to co-create and operationalize new solutions, leveraging Visa's capabilities across payments and crypto in the evolving U.S. regulatory landscape.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, identifying, piloting, and scaling new ideas that drive mutual growth.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

Deep expertise and genuine interest in the intersection of crypto, payments and fintech demonstrated by hands-on experience, thought leadership, or a strong industry network.

7 or more years managing complex, high-profile client relationships in payments, financial technology, or capital markets and digital assets.

Proven success in driving strategic partnerships or enterprise sales, including structuring, negotiating, and closing multi-faceted deals with fast-moving, innovative companies.

Industry insider mentality with ability to speak the language of crypto, stablecoins, blockchain, capital markets, and brokerage to quickly build credibility and navigate the rapidly evolving industry dynamics.

Exceptional strategic thinking, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate market shifts and translate insights into actionable plans.

Creative approach to problem-solving and product solutioning, able to manage ambiguity, surface opportunities, and deliver results in uncharted territory.

Strong executive presence and communication skills, comfortable engaging with C-level leaders and representing Visa in industry forums.

Track record of influencing and aligning cross-functional teams, internally and externally, to drive complex initiatives forward.

Entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, and highly collaborative, as well as energized by working in fast-paced, ambiguous, and high-growth environments.

International experience or mindset a strong plus, given the global ambitions of our partners.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 169,100.00 to 245,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
