The Tax Application Project Manager is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of the assigned tax compliance product line(s). This individual manages all compliance and preseason products for the various markets served. This individual leads and manages a team of Tax Analysts and acts as a liaison between the development group and an external client/vendor, or a development group and an internal business sponsor and/or other stakeholders. This person is responsible for the day-to-day aspects of the team including planning/scheduling, reviews, hiring, process management/improvement, and task delivery. Working conditions This position does require during certain times of the year evening and weekend email monitoring for client escalations and action taken based on the time sensitive nature. About the Role As a Tax Project Manager, you will: Project Management / Process Improvements (70%)
- Reviews specifications and communicates business requirements between development and stakeholders to design and implement business solutions fully understanding design specification and documentation standards
- Seeks process improvements and technologies that will streamline workflow process and improve time to market metrics and reduce costs when possible and manages processing deadlines within complex environments and make critical decisions that impact product time-to-market metrics.
- Demonstrates high-powered analytical skills and the ability to understand concepts and situations that pass by many others and develops ideas and programs to positively impact the client experience
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals and demonstrates the ability to scope out a complex project based on business requirements and create a project plan or statement of work.
Leadership (20%)
- Sets employee performance goals that compliment, augment and enhance the goals and strategic direction and demonstrates highly effective performance management skills necessary to identify and attract external talent as well as motivate and develop employees.
- Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
- Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
- Acts as an advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules, provide guidance and/or resolve technical problems and demonstrates strong cross team/group/org collaboration skills; ability to foresee and analyze project risks, develop risk management plan, and mitigate subsequent issues.

Communication (10%)
- Demonstrates exceptional written and oral communication skills that allow effective when communicating up or down in the organization.
- Leads client meetings and/or responds to issues with little oversight or intervention.
- Effectively communicates with teams on the reasons for new project development or a change in direction related to the product.

- Excellent cost management skills within understanding of how department cost impacts product development and ultimately the company's financial results.
- Ability to coach and develop staff without significant support from their own line managers.
- Higher education degree; MBA or CPA preferred

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $99,400 - $184,600.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
