Summary
Responsible for managing all aspects of overseeing the exposure of mice to cigarette smoke and the breeding of gene-targeted mouse colonies, the weaning of litters, ear tagging to identify each animal, perform tail biopsies for genotyping. Additional responsibilities will include to ensure that the laboratory meets all regulations required by lab inspections through IACUC or Biosafety committees. Prepare new SOPs as needed for all laboratory experiments by including the input of all lab members and help the implementation of all SOPs during studies. Analyzes data, prepares reports, and provides regular updates to program leadership. Identifies and escalates issues and risks and recommends solutions. Leads and provides guidance and support to other laboratory members and make decisions in helping the tasks that need to be completed by research technologists. Facilitate communication among lab members to keep updates on the stocks of lab supplies and help disseminate new SOPs *Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions *Prepare reagents and buffers, and other experiments as directed by the Principal Investigator *Work with other investigators in the laboratory utilizing state-of-the-art in vitro and in vivo models. *Conduct research, manage and analyze data in systems, and develop reports and presentations to support programs. *Responsible for assisting with training and orientation of new postdocs and technicians. *Monitor program progress and proactively address deviations from plans, timelines, or budgets. *Raise questions promptly with Investigators about matters affecting data quality. *Provide thorough written and/or electronic documentation of all costs, protocols, weekly project status reports and laboratory projects.
