THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee human resource management functions such as hiring, placement, training, recognition, and discipline for both Civil Service and union-covered employees. You will ensure that knowledge and skills assessments are conducted fairly and consistently across the Driver License Center. Additionally, you will monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of field staff through personal observations and analysis of various performance metrics, including productivity, quality ratings, test results, and customer satisfaction scores. Your commitment to the Driver and Vehicle Services Customer Service Policy will be paramount, as you strive to deliver 100% courteous and professional service to all customers. Compliance with customer service standards will be essential, along with implementing oversight and audit controls to prevent identity fraud and theft. You will also manage and resolve conflicts among customers, partners, and staff, ensuring clarity on priorities and task requirements. Finally, you will supervise the administration of vision tests, ensuring that performance standards and objectives for your Driver License Center staff are consistently met.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
  • This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five-year period immediately preceding employment.

Other Requirements:
