As a Machine/Extruder Lead for Flexible Pipe Systems (FPS), you will ensure extrusion lines are set up properly to specific job specifications. During machine operation, the lead is responsible for the quality of the product and the entry of all QA and ISO data, as required. The lead ensures proper line speed is maintained during the production run. The lead is responsible for the cleanliness of the area utilizing the system.

As a Machine Operator - Extrusion Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Under direct supervision, setting up, monitoring, and operating CV Line/s and other various pieces of equipment associated with the manufacturing facility requirements (packager,co-ex extrusion, magline, plastic extruder, and PCP injection)
  • Operating multiple machines at one time, repairing, patching or splicing pipe
  • Performing quality assurance activities as required by manufacturing/engineering specifications and ISO requirements using mics, calipers and tape measure.
  • Following internal processes to ensure integrity, safety, compliance and quality
  • Identifying and implementing enhancements to products, processes and procedures to improve efficiency and run a LEAN team
  • Training and devleopment of team
  • Improving operational capabilities and output via assigned projects
  • Following verbal and written instructions and maintaining accurate records
  • Operating industrial forklift trucks and overhead cranes

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Have minimum 1+ year of related experience
  • Have experience in a Manufacturing environment, focusing on extrusion processes
  • Display the ability to identify and resolve problems and be able to implement effective improvements
  • Show excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Have a good understanding of IT software such as MS Office, Oracle experience a plus
  • Be able to read and interpret routine instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Have a good mechanical aptitude and be able to use general hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Have good communication skills, safety oriented and a team player.
  • Ability to work overtime for business needs
