As Senior Packaging/Equipment Engineer you will work alongside the rest of the Development Engineering team to progress global development projects, with a focus on Packaging and Dosing and Dispensing Equipment. You will be a key member of cross functional project teams, taking a role as a technical lead. There will also be an additional element of data analysis, critical to supporting our Sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

Project Management:

  • Supports the project prioritization process with estimates of resource requirements
  • Takes a structured approach to projects, planning activities in advance to anticipate potential issues and take necessary steps to minimize project disruption
  • Acts a mentor to support more junior members of the team with prioritization and keeping their projects on track

Technical Depth/Skills:

  • Supporting R&D projects when needed with technical expertise in the area of Packaging and Dosing, Dilution, and Dispensing Equipment.
  • Determine viable solutions to technical problems including the design/development of new solutions
  • Operate as senior member of the engineering team completing and maintaining drawings and associated document packages in our multiple data bases and our PLM.
  • Maintain technical expertise to provide relevant coaching to more junior team members
  • Provide advice to R&D management on technical issues and recommend a path forward
  • Build and maintain a good level of application knowledge of the Diversey Global Dosing, Dilution and Dispensing product portfolio and its interaction with packaging types
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to diverse audiences in a clear and concise manner
  • Liaises with suppliers in conjunction with the Quality function to ensure resolution of issues
  • Ensures issues and resolutions are documented and communicated to take learnings into future developments

Quality Management System:

  • Operate within the QMS and input to the development and maintenance of the system for the benefit of the broader group
  • Work with vendors to align documentation processes and drive to consistent and complete document packages
  • Provide input into and work to maintain quality of processes and tools such as the PLM system and equipment document database in SolidWorks.

This position will be focused more as a Project Engineer than a Design Engineer, with a 70/30 split.

Skills required:

  • Degree in Engineering (ME, PackagingE, ChemE). Masters is preferred.
  • 5-8 years' experience in a similar role
  • Has understanding of packaging development
  • Has understanding of design for injection molding
  • Has good understanding of sustainability and recycled materials
  • Ability to work with data (packaging data for sustainability purposes)
  • Has min 3 years of experience working within a design team in a similar subject area (packaging and equipment development and manufacturing)
  • Knowledge of documentation and specification management (Within a PLM system)
  • Good understanding of project management
  • Ability to work cross functionally with Supply Chain and Portfolio leads
  • Understanding of product life cycle management
  • Familiar with Design for Lean Six Sigma tools, such as FMEA's, Design of Experiment
  • Able to prioritize work on multiple projects to meet deadlines
  • Pro-active and constructive communication skills
  • Working within a large multinational company
  • Able to provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues
  • Fluent in English
  • Good CAD skills including proficiency in 3D SolidWorks

Predominantly Office and Laboratory. Occasional workshop use and supplier factory visits. Will be on site in Fort Mill 3+ days a week.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $75,900.00 and $126,500.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
