Workers Compensation - Clinical Liaison
1.0 FTE, Full-Time, Salaried Summary The Mary Free Bed Workers' Compensation - Clinical Liaison plays a crucial role in ensuring excellent care for injured workers at Mary Free Bed. Serving as a liaison between employers, employees, insurance carriers, and Mary Free Bed providers, their primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth flow of information and coordination of care. This position requires collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders to ensure optimal patient outcomes and provide exceptional experiences for referral sources within the workers' compensation industry. Essential Job Responsibilities * Coordination of Care: Work with the MFB admissions team to manage acute care hospital referrals. Support transitions to the next level of care, including inpatient, home, and outpatient settings in collaboration with external workers' compensation decision-makers. * Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for external parties such as workers' compensation nurse case managers and adjustors. Coordinate communication with internal teams such as MFB care management, clinical teams, and patient service coordinators to ensure timely access to evidence based medical care. Ensure external parties receive clinical documentation and updates in timely manner. * Referral Development: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with referral sources including acute care hospitals, external case managers, and insurance partners. Identify new referral opportunities and collaborate with the admissions and marketing teams to promote Mary Free Bed's workers' compensation services. Track referral trends and provide feedback to enhance service delivery and increase referral volume. * Patient and Family Interaction: Engage with injured workers and their families throughout the care process to provide support and information as needed, in alignment with the full workers' comp care team. * Admissions Facilitation: Oversee the admissions process to Mary Free Bed, including obtaining necessary pre-authorizations and completing pre-admission documentation as needed - supporting the admissions team. * Customer Service: Collaborate with all MFB network partners to address issues and facilitate referrals to the appropriate level of rehabilitation. Build relationships with catastrophic external case managers to optimize customer experience and referral generation. * Insurance Captive: Participate in case review, consultation, and clinical oversight of injured workers within the Specialty Risk-Transfer program. * Maintains a high level of current knowledge about each referral source and the associated patient populations. * Completes other duties as assigned. * We'll embrace all people by:

Essential Job Qualifications * Degree in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, speech therapy or athletic training. * Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
