COMSEC Custodian

Key Role:

Design, install, configure, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure to meet the business needs. Monitor and troubleshoot problems. Apply advanced consulting skills or extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and may supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with electronics repair, maintenance, and checkout of electronic systems

• 2+ years of experience with air traffic control equipment and systems, including communications, navigation, RADAR, or meteorology systems

• Experience with Cryptographic Keying Material ordering, handling, safekeeping, and reporting

• Experience with Communications Security practices for handling, reporting, and storing Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI)

• Secret clearance

• HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with handling and use of secure cryptographic key loaders

• Knowledge of computer networking principles, installation standards, shop practices and tools, and troubleshooting methods

• Ability to perform installation tasks, including making or repairing and soldering cables or connectors

• Ability to assist with the development of equipment layout and placement, including cabling design and fabricating panels and bulkheads

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

• Ability to work in confined spaces or climb towers up to 5% of the time

• Navigational or RADAR Systems Certification

• Completion of formal electronics training from a Class A or B Military School or a Commercial Technical School in Electronics or Communications

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
