SUMMARY

This is an opportunity to join a growing, dynamic, and responsible company that fosters the development of our employees. We are seeking a new Technical . This position is remote requiring occasional travel to our locations in the continental U.S. The ideal candidate will be located near one of our regional offices. The position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

This role serves as a subject matter expert in our field software systems used for service and for projects including Inspect Point and Procore, as well as other tools. Additionally this role will develop and deliver training in inspection, testing, and maintenance activities. The individual will collaborate across departments and provide training, support, and continuous improvement to ensure consistent, high-quality use of our field software tools and alignment with applicable codes, standards, and documentation requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • All team members must embody the company mission to provide protection for people, property, and the environment in all aspects of their job.
  • Within three months of starting the role become an SME in Inspect Point inspection and field service software
  • Within four months of starting the role become an SME in Procore construction management software
  • Become an expert in fire protection system ITM code requirements. Track new versions of NFPA standards and ITM requirement changes
  • Become an expert in our internal quality policies, work instructions, and business processes related to service
  • Provide phone and electronic (email) support on field software issues for our field and operations associates
  • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions for field technicians, Account Managers, and operations personnel on ITM topics
  • Write and maintain training scripts, presentation decks, and role-specific learning content
  • Assist with onboarding new hires, ensuring they are trained on the use of our field software products
  • Conduct ride-alongs to observe and assess technicians' use of field software to ensure alignment with Company standards and best practices
  • Review and revise internal work instructions and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements, in collaboration with the Quality System Manager
  • Work with software vendors and internal IT to test and implement improvements to Inspect Point and related service platforms
  • During field audits, verify that technicians are utilizing proper testing equipment and that all equipment is in good working condition
  • Stay current on NFPA codes and industry trends through technical training and association participation
  • Other duties as assigned. Job duties and responsibilities can change at any time with or without notice


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a fire protection service technician or service manager, required
  • Experience in mentoring, field training, or technical support roles, preferred
  • 20-25% travel


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Strong understanding of ITM practices across fire alarm, suppression, and detection systems
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards including NFPA and manufacturer requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and mentor others
  • Technologically inclined, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficient with digital tools, mobile applications, and inspection software platforms


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS


  • This is a hybrid position with responsibilities in both the field and the office. Occasional travel to branch offices or customer sites is required. The role involves observing field operations and providing technical support specifically related to Inspect Point software. While this role does not perform inspections or carry field tools, the individual must be able to navigate industrial environments and safely observe technician activities during field audits.
