FABRICATOR II (Fabrication Machine Operator)
LOCATION: Geneva, OH (44041)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of industry experience preferred.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED preferred (In lieu of diploma, relevant work experience demonstrating the required job skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the job).
SHIFT: 1st Shift (6am to 2:30pm, M-F - with occasional overtime)
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator (Fabrication Machine Operator) to join our manufacturing team. The primary function of this position is to fabricate parts for assembly of production units. The Fabricator will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting fabrication machinery to produce high-quality metal components and assemblies. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Uses hand tools, power tools, CNC punches, press brakes, and other tools to mark, cut, shape and join a variety of sheet metal materials, including aluminum and stainless steel.
*Operate Fabrication Equipment: Set up, operate, and monitor fabrication machines such as CNC machines, laser cutters, press brakes, welding machines, or other metal-forming equipment to produce parts according to specifications.
*Read and Interpret Blueprints: Analyze technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate production of components.
*Material Preparation: Measure, cut, and prepare raw materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, or other metals) for fabrication processes, using tools such as calipers for precise measurements.
*Quality Control: Inspect finished products for accuracy using caliper devices and other measuring tools, ensuring they meet dimensional tolerances, quality standards, and customer requirements.
*Measurement and Conversion: Accurately measure components and convert between fractions and decimals to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
*Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
*Documentation: Record production data, including quantities produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered during the fabrication process.
*Performs cycle counting of parts and material handling duties as directed by Lead/Supervisor.
*Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization.
*Adheres to all quality and safety standards.
*Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned.
*May participate in lean /six sigma/quality/safety initiatives as required.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
*1 -3 Years of experience operating fabrication machinery in a manufacturing environment
*Ability to read and interpret prints (blueprints): Analyze technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate production of components.
*Experience using caliper devices for precise measurements and verifying tolerances.
*Ability to convert measurements between fractions and decimals accurately.
*Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment, including CNC machines, press brakes, and welding systems.
*Experience with the operation of small power tools, other hand tools and computerized and high-pressure equipment.
*Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner.
*Must be able to speak, read and understand English.

*Work is accomplished in a moderately clean plant environment.
*The production floor does not have a cooling system.
*The sound level in the work environment may fluctuate due to noises associated with manufacturing process
*Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil and/or fumes
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
*Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
*Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
*Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
*Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
*Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
*Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules
