The Mercer Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Care clinic in Macon, GA is searching for a Mammography Technologist.

Responsibilities:

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms and general diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and regulatory standards. This position plays a key role in delivering accurate, compassionate, and patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and quality assurance standards.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, along with two years of relevant experience. Clinical experience during the course of schoolwork/certification is applicable.

Certifications:
  • Current certification from the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT);
  • State of Georgia Licensure and certification in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or obtained within six months of hire date.
  • Current CPR certification required or obtained within six months of hire date.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Varied EHR (Athena preferred) systems experience
  • Proficiency in operating digital mammography and general radiographic equipment, with the ability to produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician.
  • Knowledge of positioning techniques, radiation safety, and anatomy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing clinical priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care delivery.
  • Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and EHR systems.
  • Ability to produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician;
  • Ability to maintain equipment and safety standards.
  • Ability to follow physician orders and established imaging protocols.
