| Job Summary
 The Director of Buying & Planning is a full-time, onsite position based in East Rutherford, NJ. This role is responsible for leading all procurement, demand planning, and inventory management operations within the organization. The Director will oversee a team of buyers, manage vendor relationships, and ensure alignment between supply chain operations, sales goals, and production schedules. This position requires a strategic, analytical leader with extensive experience managing complex supply chains, negotiating with major suppliers, and supporting partnerships with big box retailers.
 Job Responsibilities 
 
 
 
 Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-5 buyers to drive excellence in sourcing, procurement, and vendor management. 
 Design and implement supply chain and purchasing strategies that align with business objectives and maintain optimal inventory levels. 
 Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including supplier sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation. 
 Partner with major retail customers (such as Walmart and Target) to synchronize inventory, supply, and delivery schedules. 
 Monitor sales performance, market trends, and demand data to refine forecasts and adjust procurement plans. 
 Collaborate with internal teams across sales, finance, operations, and logistics to ensure seamless product flow and timely fulfillment. 
 Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining high product quality and service standards. 
 Oversee domestic and international sourcing, imports, and compliance with shipping and regulatory requirements. 
 Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership and report directly to the CFO. 
 
 Job Requirements 
 
 
 
 Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field. 
 Minimum of five years of experience in supply chain management, buying, or demand planning, with at least two years in a leadership role. 
 Proven track record managing procurement and inventory for big box retail partners. 
 Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills. 
 Proficiency with ERP systems, demand planning software, and Microsoft Excel. 
 Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments. 
 Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment. 
 
 Education 
 
 
 
 Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline required. 
 
 Work Experience 
 
 
 
 At least five years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain, buying, or inventory management. 
 Prior experience managing relationships with large-scale retailers such as Walmart or Target strongly preferred.

 Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits.
