Summary: We are seeking highly qualified HAZMAT instructors to teach the CRE Responder Basic Course, a 40-hour IFSAC-accredited certification program in HAZMAT Awareness and Operations. Job Description:
Deliver 40-hour CRE Responder Basic Course across 4 consecutive 10-hour days Teach HAZMAT Awareness and Operations to classes of 50-100 National Guard soldiers Operate advanced CBRN equipment including detection systems, decontamination stations, and PPE Evaluate student performance using government-provided assessment tools Maintain training records and provide course completion reports Teach Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) selection, donning, and operations, Respiratory Protection including Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Emergency Response Procedures for in-transit and domestic operations, and Toxic Industrial Chemicals/Materials (TIC/TIM) identification and response
Deployment Requirements:
Travel to 10 locations nationwide: Edinburgh IN, Tacoma WA, San Miguel CA, Boise ID, Sparta WI, Salt Lake City UT, Peekskill NY, Wareham MA, Killeen TX, Arlington VA Flexible scheduling: Any 4 consecutive days including weekends/holidays Pre/post course duties: Equipment setup (1 day) and breakdown (1 day) 30-day advance notice for all training iterations Professional appearance: Collared shirt, long pants, name tag during instruction
Required Qualifications:
IFSAC HAZMAT Technician Level (NFPA 470 Chapter 11) Ability to obtain a Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course within 6 months of hire Must have a valid driver's license
Essential Requirements:
Military instructor experience or equivalent emergency response training background Subject matter expertise in CBRN/HAZMAT operations Fluent English communication - must be clearly understood by students Valid driver's license for training vehicles Physical fitness for PPE/SCBA operations and confined space work Professional demeanor suitable for military training environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Chemical Corps (74D MOS) or equivalent CBRN specialties Military firefighter with HAZMAT specialization National Guard/Reserve training experience TRADOC assignment or service school instructor experience ASI "H" instructor identifier or similar teaching credentials
