Job Description

You're the behind-the-scenes hero who keeps our hospital running smoothly and looking spotless. As an Environmental Services Distribution Technician, you'll do more than just clean-you'll keep supplies stocked, equipment moving, and every corner of our facility ready for care. It's hands-on, high-impact, and never boring.

What You'll Do
  • Keep It Clean - Sanitize and service building areas to keep everything neat, orderly, and infection-free.

  • Supply the Team - Monitor and restock EVS supplies to maintain proper inventory (no one likes running out of gloves).

  • Move with Purpose - Help relocate furniture, equipment, and supplies across hospital departments.

  • Use the Tools - Operate battery-powered and electric floor care equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Know Your Chemicals - Read labels, follow instructions, and use cleaning agents correctly and safely.

  • Stay Compliant - Follow safety and infection control standards every step of the way.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Great people skills - you're friendly, helpful, and know how to interact with staff, patients, and visitors.

  • Strong communication - you can speak, read, and write in English clearly.

  • Physical strength - able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently, and occasionally more.

  • Attention to detail - able to understand cleaning product labels and follow first aid directions if needed.

  • Equipment knowledge - comfortable operating powered cleaning machines.

  • Coachable attitude - ready to pass a competency check after 30-60 days of training and mentoring.

Bonus Points If You Have:
  • A High School Diploma or GED

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment

  • At least 6 months of experience in Environmental Services in a facility setting

Why You'll Love It Here

At University Health, you're not just cleaning-you're contributing to healing. Patients and staff count on clean, safe spaces to do their best work and recover with peace of mind. You'll be part of a team that values pride in work, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Every shift you work makes a difference.
