About the role:

The Shipping and Receiving Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing, directing, and managing all aspects of the operations for the Headquarters mailroom. This includes handling key parcel carrier accounts, developing and implementing programs to optimize logistics workflows, and ensuring seamless coordination between physical and digital mail processes. This role also ensures efficient processing, tracking, and delivery of all inbound and outbound shipments, while maintaining meticulous records and inventory control. A key function of this role is the accurate allocation, tracking, and reconciliation of parcel billing, ensuring shipping costs are properly assigned to the correct cost centers or departments.

This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week in our San Francisco Office. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement efficient shipping and receiving procedures and protocols.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Headquarters mailroom, including the processing of all incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and freight.
  • Administer and oversee all corporate shipping accounts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to company policies.
  • Coordinate with various departments to facilitate the timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Track shipments and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Manage the inventory of shipping supplies and equipment.
  • Resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor mailroom staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on shipping and receiving activities as required.
  • Track and allocate monthly UPS billings according to reference numbers, and provide detailed cost breakdowns to accounting.
  • Manage corporate UPS account users, including adding and removing profiles as required.
  • Develop and launch global shipping programs, including creating and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mail services.
  • Print incoming documents, pack shipments, and create shipping labels.

Minimum requirements for the role:



  • 5+ years of experience in shipping/receiving logistics or related field.
  • Familiarity and training in the shipping of dangerous goods and hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of shipping and logistics processes and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time-management abilities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy packages and materials.
  • Familiarity with shipping software (UPS CampusShip, FedEx Ship Manager), envoy, financial tools, and ERP systems.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and can be onsite Monday-Friday in our San Francisco Office.


An ideal candidate also has:



  • Proven ability to manage and supervise a team effectively.
  • Understanding of air parcel shipment networks.
  • Thorough knowledge of correctly preparing commercial invoices across all major parcel systems.
  • Experience designing/developing a shipping and receiving operations program from the ground up.

Samsara's Compensation Philosophy: Samsara's compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
