About This Position

The Claims Specialist provides support for the company's auto and Worker's Compensation claims program to facilitate positive results for employees and for the company.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Report claims timely to the insurance company.
  • Ensure timely and adequate medical care for employees.
  • Handle Worker's Compensation claims within a territory to closure.
  • Serve as primary point of contact to help injured employees with work comp benefits.
  • Facilitate relationships with medical treatment providers and clinics.
  • Oversee claims adjuster work product to keep claims on track for positive results.
  • Act as liaison between management, claims adjuster and employee to promote positive claim and recovery results.
  • Work together with attorneys and adjusters to ensure goals are identified and achieved.
  • Administer policies and procedures for employees that have filed a worker's compensation claim.
  • Manage auto insurance claims within a territory to closure.
  • Monitor new claim activity to identify and report adverse trends and work with safety personnel and management to address.
  • Conduct accident investigations to identify trends and make safety recommendations.
  • Support employment and other litigated insurance-related claims within a territory.
  • Process claims services vendor invoices.
  • Complete miscellaneous projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous worker's compensation adjusting and/or related experience preferred.
  • Management level written and oral communication skills or Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to travel to other locations to deliver or receive training
