About this position:

  • We are hiring one (1) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Work hours are 24 hours per week. Work schedule to be discussed during interview.
  • The assignment will end on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Continuation beyond May 10, 2026 is contingent upon business need and funding.
Purpose

To provide medical care for patients eligible for UHS services.

Responsibilities
  • Provides primary gynecological healthcare medical services to the female student population at the University of Texas at Austin as a University Health Services (UHS) Gynecology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
  • Participates in departmental meetings, policy revisions, and peer review.
  • Participates in the overall goals of the organization, including Staff Development Days.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, Women's Health or Family Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Have a current APRN license in the state of Texas
  • Current registration from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners, without any pending or current disciplinary action
  • Three years of experience as an APRN in Gynecology.
  • One year of experience with insertion and removal of IUD and Nexplanon
  • Experience using electronic medical records
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a varied community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Physician Assistant

  • Master's degree in Physician Associate studies
  • Currently licensed from the Texas Medical Board, without any pending or current disciplinary action
  • Certificate of graduation from an approved Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant
  • Current National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants to practice as a Physician Assistant
  • Three years of experience in Gynecological Health as a Physician Assistant
  • Experience using electronic medical records
  • One year of experience with insertion and removal of IUD and Nexplanon
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a varied community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • More than three years of experience as an APRN in Women's Health
  • Two or more years of experience with Nexplanon and IUD insertions and removals
  • One year of experience with colposcopy
  • Experience working with college-age populations
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent professional demeanor
  • Experience using Point N Click software in electronic medical records
  • Familiarity in working in an integrated behavioral health clinic setting

Physician Assistant

  • Experience working with college-age populations
  • More than three years of experience as an PA in Women's Health
  • Two or more years of experience with Nexplanon and IUD insertions and removals
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent professional demeanor
  • Experience using Point N Click software in electronic medical records
  • Familiarity in working in an integrated behavioral health clinic setting
Salary Range

$5,750/month

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
