What this job involves: The Facility Manager role is designed to ensure proper operation of all facility aspects across two manufacturing/warehouse locations. In this position, you will establish and maintain a comprehensive facility management program overseeing building operations, systems, and equipment. This balanced role combines 50% hands-on maintenance work with 50% management responsibilities, requiring both technical expertise and leadership skills. You'll lead an on-site team while personally handling maintenance tasks and administrative duties. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic mix of practical building maintenance and strategic facility management. What your day-to-day will look like: Manage facility operations for two manufacturing/warehouse locations Lead and develop a team of on-site personnel, evaluating their performance Implement safety initiatives to improve awareness and positively change behaviors Develop and track energy conservation and operational efficiency initiatives Collect and respond to client feedback through formal and informal channels Oversee life cycle asset maintenance and vendor preventive maintenance schedules Complete compliance training and ensure timely execution of critical PMs Ensure adherence to safety, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements Conduct relationship meetings with key stakeholders and clients Required Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation capabilities Proven record of providing outstanding internal and external customer service Knowledge of standard business and accounting practices Proficiency with Excel and data analysis skills Experience with work order management systems Understanding of facility compliance requirements and regulations Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in electrical systems and/or HVAC operations Previous experience managing manufacturing or warehouse facilities Experience implementing and documenting energy conservation initiatives Background in life cycle asset management Team leadership experience in a facilities environment Knowledge of safety protocols specific to industrial settings Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts Location: On-site -Ashland, VA If this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet all the requirements.
