ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
The Treasury Analyst - Investments & Funding assists with managing the cash, investment, collateral, and funding responsibilities for the Bank and Holding Company and supports the Treasury Department with key indicator monitoring and management reporting.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
1. Assist Treasury team in managing current investment portfolio, including individual security surveillance, portfolio management, pre-trade analysis, trade operations, and custodian oversight.
2. Facilitate the trade settlement process including trade ticketing, entering into the bond accounting system, and entering trade information into the custodian system and resolving any discrepancies that may occur during the settlement process.
3. Assist with and enhance reporting and ongoing monitoring of the Bank and Holding Company investment portfolios.
4. Work towards developing subject matter expertise with respect to managing a fixed income portfolio across various sectors within a financial institution.
5. Assist with executing funding strategies for the Bank, including managing the daily cash position, short- and long-term borrowings, managing issuance and operations of brokered deposits, etc.
6. Work towards developing subject matter expertise with respect to bank funding strategies and optimization of costs of funds.
7. Manage collateral positions for all relationships requiring collateral, including government deposits, repurchase agreements, funding providers, derivative counterparties, etc.
8. Manage key performance indicators, including periodic reporting, limit violation escalation, and corrective action tracking.
9. Develop advanced machine learning or artificial intelligence tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of all functions listed above.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:
* Excellent organizational skills along with written communication skills.
* Strong desire to learn fixed income investing and portfolio management strategies.
* Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
* Experience with using AI tools a strong plus.
* Strong analytical skills including demonstrated ability to learn bond mathematics, accounting, and relative value analysis.
* Being a self starter with a drive to expand knowledge base and duties will be key traits for this role.
Requirements
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors Degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics, or economics.
* Minimum of one year demonstrated operational experience through internships or prior work experience.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
* Internal contact with department managers, other bank departments, and senior management.
* Masters Degree or demonstrated experience through internships or prior work experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office environment, with work-from-home a requirement for business continuity planning purposes. Ability to operate a computer.
