Research & Innovation (R&I) provides support and vision to create crucial infrastructure, partnerships, and programs for the achievement of research excellence. The goal of the Research Hubs initiative is to accelerate the growth, impact, and competitiveness of UNCW research in strategic areas by serving as a nexus for interdisciplinary teams of researchers to launch or advance multiple research projects.

Two Research Hubs are in their second year of activity. The Brain Health Resilience Research Hub is dedicated to brain health resilience advancement spanning prevention to pharmacological intervention, and the Maritime Cybersecurity Applied Research, Technology, and Education Center (MCARTEC) aims to secure and strengthen the resilience of the maritime subsector of the transportation systems sector.

The Project Manager position will offer support to both Hubs in the following capacities:

Project Planning and Execution

Documentation

Other Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
