Are you passionate about helping at-risk youth and families achieve their greatest potential? Come join our team as a Substance Abuse Counselor! PSG/CIP is a community-based social services organization looking for talented professionals like you to join our team. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the role of Substance Abuse Counselor in our Intensive In-Home Services program.

The Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS) Program provides therapeutic and parenting services to families involved in, or at risk of, becoming involved in the formal social services system for abuse, neglect, truancy, and/or delinquency issues. IIHS strives to preserve the family, reduce out-of-home placements, and aid in reunification where necessary. Our collaborated team of Parent Mentors, Therapists, Youth Support Specialists, and Substance Abuse Counselors work together to provide a wide range of intensive services. As the Substance Abuse Counselor, it will be your responsibility to conduct substance use assessments and provide treatment services as needed. Services may be delivered in individual, family, or group settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MONITORED HOME DETENTION YOUTH WORKER:



  • Interview and evaluate families to complete the intake process.
  • Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
  • Formulate, implement, evaluate and review client treatment plans.
  • Counsel clients in accordance with their treatment plans.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, and group counseling.
  • Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
  • Attend client court proceedings and make appropriate recommendations as required.
  • Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Safely transport clients as needed.


LOCATION: Office is located in Kenosha, WI. Local travel is required (with mileage reimbursement) to meet clients and families within the home. Must be able to meet in-person with families located in Kenosha County, Wisconsin.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC or SAC-IT) licensure is required.
  • Previous experience working with AODA clients is preferred.
