Position Highlights |
The Materials Science and Engineering department (MSE) is seeking a Research Technologist with expertise in maintaining and operating servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical materials testing equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to work with faculty, staff and students, manage the materials testing facility to support research projects and industry partnerships. This position is full-time, and on-site at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Set-up and operate electro-mechanical and servo-hydraulic materials testing machines located in the Mines and ARB building at the University of Arizona.
- Provide routine maintenance and upkeep of test equipment and facilities.
- Provide safety training and oversee graduate and undergraduate students operating testing equipment in Mines and ARB building.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of testing standards (ASTM).

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Manufacturing Technology, or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience working with electro-mechanical and servo-hydraulic systems
