THOR Solutions is actively seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to NIWC Pacific Code 81200 (Total Force Management) in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience obtained in a U.S. Navy environment.

Typical Responsibilities include:
  • Provide administrative support to the Total Force Management division.
  • Create documentation for the Civilian Awards program, track awards, and coordinate awards ceremonies.
  • Support recruiting and hiring activities for the NIWC Pacific PhD, Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) Intern, Associates, and New Professionals programs.
  • Support the Military Administration office in preparing, maintaining, and tracking all documents related to managing NIWC Pacific's military personnel.
  • Support the Training Management Office in preparing, issuing, and tracking all training requests within NIWC Pacific.
  • Support the Manpower Office in analyzing entries in the Total Force Manpower Management System (TFMMS) and maintaining the Billet Identification Number (BIN) inventory.
  • Conduct various other administrative support functions as required.

Location: Full time onsite at the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) in Point Loma, San Diego, CA.

Work Schedule: California Alternative Work Week/Regular Day Off schedule.
  • Mon - Thu are 9-hour days (7:15am - 4:45pm, including unpaid 30-minute lunch break).
  • Fridays alternate between 8-hour days (7:15am - 3:45pm, including unpaid 30-minute lunch break) and non-working days.

Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.

Typical Pay Range:The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $26.00 - 30.00/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.

Existing Secret Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate will already possess an Active or Interim Secret security clearance. An otherwise strongly qualified candidate with relevant DoD admin experience but no current security clearance may be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of recent, relevant professional experience providing administrative support.
  • Advanced proficiency with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to communicate and work with executive leadership at NIWC such as the CO and XO, government civilians, industry partners, and active-duty military.

Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Additional relevant education such as a Bachelor's or Associate degree in a related discipline, relevant professional certifications, or relevant military/vocational training.
  • Experience includes at least one (1) year of experience providing administrative support in a NAVSEA, Navy, or other DoD environment, such as a U.S. Navy Yeomen (YN).
