Surgical Services Assistant

40 Hours Weekly, Full Time, Dayshift (8:30a-5pm)

Baptist Health LaGrange OR is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Surgical Services Anesthesia Technician/Aide to support our surgical team in delivering high-quality patient care. This dual-role position is responsible for ensuring the anesthesia environment is fully prepared and maintained, while also assisting with various surgical aide duties. Under the direction of the Surgical Services Nurse Manager, OR Charge RN/Board Runner, and/or Endo/SPD Supervisor, the technician/aide plays a critical role in both anesthesia support and operating room logistics. Key responsibilities include cleaning and restocking anesthesia equipment, maintaining supply levels, and reporting equipment issues. The role also involves transporting patients, securing surgical supplies and equipment, assisting with room setup, and supporting nursing staff during procedures. Additional duties include maintaining inventory of medical gases, cleaning and preparing stretchers, and participating in endoscope reprocessing as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates accountability through timely communication, professional conduct, adherence to policies, and active participation in training and performance improvement initiatives.
