Job Summary

The FGCU Academy Coordinator is responsible for implementing the vision and strategy of FGCU Academy and its programs. This role plays a vital part in coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day and administrative operations of the program, collaborating closely with internal departments and external partners. It also focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, enhancing the overall experience for lifelong learners, and supporting the continued growth and success of the program.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates and manages the day-to-day administrative operations of FGCU Academy, supporting the delivery of Academy programs.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program policies, procedures and strategic goals to support program improvement, and alignment with university objectives.
  • Creates and implements evaluations and assessments to measure program growth, effectiveness and participant satisfaction, compiling data and reports findings to supervisor.
  • Provides guidance, information and support to prospective adult learners.
  • Connects prospective and current learners with relevant program offerings based on their individual interests and lifelong learning goals.
  • Writes and edits content for program proposals, marketing materials, email campaigns and other program-related activities.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations and ad hoc reporting related to program outcomes, enrollment and performance metrics.
  • Assists in assessing program performance effectiveness and recommends improvements to enhance educational offerings, operational efficiency and learner engagement.
  • Plans and coordinates logistics for academic and public events, including leased learning spaces, guest lecturer arrangements, and staff travel.
  • Supports financial operations by monitoring program expenses and budgets, managing inventory; fulfilling and reconciling purchases, and maintaining P-Card information.
  • Oversees assigned OPS student workers and support staff, maintains work schedules, timesheets, and approves payroll certifications.
  • Collaborates with other departments and external partners to promote lifelong learning initiatives and build community relationships.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires either four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Experience with computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • 2 years experience in program coordination, community education or administrative support in an academic or nonprofit setting
  • Experience in adult or continuing education environments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to the position.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, apply, and explain personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently to complete assignments.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service.
  • Ability to present to large groups.
