Plant Manager

Job Responsibilities

Oversee daily production activities, implement improvements in production processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and capability for cost-effectiveness.

Develop, monitor and enforce quality and performance measures; perform regular inspections and audits to ensure process and quality standards.

Ensure workplace safety protocols and cleanliness (5S, OSHA compliance).

Oversee raw material, WIP, and finished good inventory.

Monitor inventory levels to ensure ERP accuracy.

Support procurement to manage material availability to minimize shortages or excesses and prevent production delays.

Work with Planner to schedule backlog and engineering releases into a practical production plan.

Guide Planner to adjust schedules based on resource constraints, part availability, and customer priorities.

Support Buyer with the managing of purchased components and materials; along with maintaining strong vendor relationships and track supplier performance.

Lead or support lean initiatives to reduce waste, improve flow, and boost efficiency.

Act as a key liaison between engineering, sales, and production.

Participate in customer meetings or calls as needed to align on delivery or technical requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in manufacturing in a built-to-order production environment, including custom production.

Strong working knowledge of production workflows, planning & scheduling, and inventory control in a fully integrated ERP/MRP business software environment.

Technical aptitude (ability to read drawings, BOMs, basic troubleshooting).

Proven leadership and team management skills.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Must be legally able to work in the United States.

Preferred:

Experience in capital equipment or process equipment manufacturing preferred.

Knowledge of Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) and the Theory of Constraints (TOC).

Epicor experience and production planning a plus.
