Job Summary:

The MFOM Ship's Material Configuration Modeling SME will collaborate with clients to help design, implement, maintain, and test ship configuration information utilizing Configuration Data Manager Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA)/Model-Based Product Support (MBPS) generated data sets. Must be familiar with Navy standard equipment configuration tool sets. Additional expectations exist, which include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) Modeling Support Team. Specific expertise in C4I, Navigation, Damage Control, Hull Mechanical and Engineering and Aviation systems for naval units and supporting commands
  • Provide technical input based on research and analysis of CDMD-OA/MBPS program data and Fleet inputs from the MFOM Production database
  • Perform research and development of the MFOM Model Automation Tool (MMAT). Includes test case development, creation of standard operational procedures and integrated developmental and software acceptance testing of the MMAT application to the Fleet
  • Provide support to Fleet resources for configuration management, logistics and alterations support within a variety of programs and applications.
  • Utilize task management tools and software applications such as Zephyr, JIRA, and Confluence as part of a SAFe Agile approach to support product management and tracking
  • Provide support to the Fleet for Not-In-Model (NIM)/Wrong-In-Model (WIM) items generated from Automated Work Notification (AWN), Afloat Toolbox for Maintenance (ATM), Mission Readiness Assessment System (MRAS) and MFOM. Maintain the integrity of ship configuration model data received from CDMD-OA and MBPS
  • Utilize a broad array of applications and tools in the configuration management of CDMD-OA/MBPS data files within the MFOM System. Facilitate research and work file allocations using JTDI, MFOM, MRAS, AWN, CDMD-OA, and MBPS Windchill
  • Provide continuous research, development, and maintenance of ship material configuration models to support L2 Expansion and the MMAT database for Fleet activities
  • Provide accurate and timely feedback to the Fleet for Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) modeling support efforts
  • Participate in the SAFe Agile Scrum team environment with a focus on planning and delivering changes iteratively

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Must have Level 1 or higher IAT Certification (A+ CE, Security+, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, SSCP)
  • Demonstrated experience with ships configuration management
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum (8 - 10) years of hands-on experience with software maintenance to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Software Maintenance and Sustainment, Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in supporting Navy maintenance, logistics, and business systems
  • Ships Maintenance Material Management Coordinator (Ships 3MC) experience
  • Desire to obtain or utilize technical certifications as part of continuous professional growth
  • Demonstrated ability to learn fast, adapt to new technology and changes in the environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and manage multiple priorities while collaborating with internal and external cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with users, project teams, and management
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to significant inquiries from users
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
