V3 Sports is a nonprofit located in vibrant North Minneapolis, focused on elevating our community through wellness, fitness, and education! Thanks to our amazing partners, donors, and incredible community members, we have been making waves in Minneapolis, serving over a thousand families since 2007.

Founded as a non-profit in 2007, the mission of V3 Sports mission is to elevate our community through wellness, fitness and education. In 2024, V3 Sports opened Phase One of the V3 Center, a 40,000 square foot health and wellness center that will grow to be a North Minneapolis community asset and a regional destination. The focus of Phase One is to provide a place for Northside residents of all ages to access water, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, physical rehabilitation and enjoy healthy and delicious food offerings. Phase Two, which V3 Sports is actively fundraising for, will be a regional destination for sporting events, career fairs, community events, and other drivers of economic stability. At the V3 Center, Northside young people and families will access programming that supports their career and economic aspirations and builds the skills they need to make their dreams reality.

Wages and Benefits

$16 - $17 per hour; Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST). V3 Sports sponsors a retirement plan with a 4% employer match and immediate vesting.

Schedule

This on-site position offers a flexible schedule with varying hours, including evenings and weekends, to support the needs of V3 programs, events, and facility operations.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day in the life of V3 Sports' Building & Grounds Worker will provide the opportunity to support clean, safe, and functional spaces for our programs and events through hands-on maintenance, landscaping, and customer service-all while ensuring staff and guests have what they need to succeed. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Lead the regular cleaning and upkeep of the Genesis pool and therapy pool areas.
  • Sanitize and clean restrooms, locker rooms, lobbies, hallways, multipurpose rooms, and other common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and perform general custodial tasks to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Refill and restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers.
  • Perform light repair tasks and promptly report damaged or broken equipment.
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
  • Follow proper safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain custodial tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Support setup and teardown for events and meetings.
  • Keep storage areas organized, clean, and functional.
  • Maintain the building's exterior perimeter by removing visible trash and debris.
  • Immediately report repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Support snow removal efforts at entrances during winter months, complementing contracted services.
  • Provide hands-on support to program staff when possible.
  • Assist with landscaping tasks when contracted services are unavailable.
  • Perform minor building repairs and small carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Support emergency responses and evacuation procedures when necessary.


Who You Are



  • You bring at least three months of custodial experience to the role.
  • You take pride in staying disciplined and maintaining a consistent schedule.
  • You have a general mechanical aptitude and enjoy hands-on tasks.
  • You understand the value of customer service and present yourself professionally.
  • You're comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing regular physical labor.
  • You work well with others and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and the public.
  • You are known for being dependable, punctual, and detail oriented.
  • You are able and willing to maintain current CPR, First Aid, AED, and BBP certifications. (For new hires, training will be provided during onboarding.)
  • Preferably, you have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports' driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
