Baler operator

1. Operate baling machine.
2. Performs housekeeping of baler room.
3. Moves scrap to baling machine.
4. Places scrap in shredder of baling machine.
5. Check chute to make sure it is not clogged.
6. Insures bales are properly tied off with wire.
7. With forklift, removes bales from end of baler and loads onto trailers staged in docks.
8. Balling plastic up running dust collector 30 minutes a shift.
9. Weigh every 3 Bales.
10. Blowing off catwalks, cleaning all during your shift.
11. End of shift paperwork to be signed off on.
12. Collect Scrap bins from corrugator and printer department.
13. Notifies supervisor when mechanical issues arise.
14. Follows SOP for safe & efficient operation of baling equipment.
15. Shuts down equipment & notifies supervisors when baler becomes in-operable.

1. Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
2. Must be a team player with a "can do" attitude.
3. Should possess basic mechanical skills.
4. Capable of working in hot environment and in areas where inks and lubricants are used.
5. Must be capable of standing for long periods of time.
6. Must be able to frequently lift and carry 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
7. Must have basic troubleshooting abilities.
8. Must have good communication skills.
9. Must have basic computer and math skills.
10. Must be able to read basic English.
11. Due to fluctuating production levels employees may be asked to work beyond normally scheduled work hours or less than normally scheduled work hours. Employees may be required to work weekends or partial weekends on a scheduled basis. You may also be called in during non-scheduled hours.
12. Regularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
