Responsibilities

In your position as a Production Planner, you'll be responsible for creating, and maintaining, production schedules for the shop along with ensuring all manufacturing processes run efficiently and on schedule. Responsibilities may include:



  • Collaborate with teams providing design and materials to the shop to schedule a flow of work that maximizes our production resources.
  • Coordinate with production team to ensure availability of resources, such as materials, equipment, and personnel, to meet production schedules.
  • Develop production schedule (task cards) that ensure on-time delivery of products while maximizing shop efficiency and minimizing inventory levels.
  • Communicate and collaborate with upstream Operations and Planning Teams on scheduled work and backlog status.
  • Collaborate with shop leaders to address delays in schedule deadlines or other issues that may impact schedule due dates.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new production planning and scheduling processes, tools, and systems.
  • Analyze production data and provide regular reports to management on production performance, including identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production schedules, inventory levels, and other relevant data in our production management system.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Production Planner with MRP experience and the ability to connect materials, design, and other inputs to our available production resources. Applicants ideally have the following:



  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite along with production management software or ERP/MRP experience and Business Central


Location and Travel

This is a permanent/full-time position with Interstates and requires some travel (approximately 10% - 20%)
