Job Summary
Join the Hunger Solutions Institute ( HSI) team at Auburn University and put your creativity to work for a mission that matters. We're looking for a talented, dependable, detail-oriented student who is passionate about design, storytelling, and making an impact. In this role, you will help shape the look and feel of our communications across social media, email, and other channels-while ensuring we maintain the brand integrity of Auburn University, the College of Human Sciences, HSI, and our program-specific initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Adobe Express, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp; excellent visual and interpersonal communication skills; an interest in communications and marketing; the ability to collaborate effectively within a team; and the discretion to handle sensitive materials responsibly.

This is an on-campus position with flexible hours that fit around your class schedule and the needs of the HSI team
Essential Functions


  • Create Eye-Catching Designs: Develop engaging social media and email graphics that bring HSI's events, campaigns, and initiatives to life.

  • Drive Our Social Media Presence: Work with HSI Priority Leads, Communications and Marketing Specialist, and Managing Director to build and manage a strategic social media calendar for our main accounts.

  • Support Program-Specific Content: Partner with HSI Priority Leads and Communications and Marketing Specialist to understand social media goals, design content and graphics, and help post to the right platforms. Familiarity with Hootsuite is a plus.

  • Bring Newsletters to Life: Collaborate with HSI Priority Leads and Communications and Marketing Specialist to design and format e-newsletters, incorporating strong visuals and clear messaging. Experience with Mailchimp is helpful but not required.

  • Pitch In on Creative Projects: Provide graphic design support for a variety of projects, ensuring all materials are polished, professional, and on-brand.

  • Work Professionally and Efficiently: Prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and handle confidential material with discretion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled student at Auburn University.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Adobe Express, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp.
  • Interest in communications and marketing.
  • Strong visual communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to act and speak with discretion and handle sensitive materials responsibly.
  • Dependability, ability to multi-task, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
