Please note: This is a hybrid position. You will be expected to work from the office in Alpharetta, GA, three days a week, and work from home two days a week.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The AR Cash Application Coordinator serves as a member of the Accounting/Finance team under the direction of the Accounts Receivable Manager. The AR Cash Application Coordinator is responsible for accurately and efficiently applying incoming payments to customer accounts and resolving payment discrepancies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy of the company's accounts receivable records and ensuring timely and efficient cash flow.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Process and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to appropriate invoices and accounts in the accounting system.
  • Review and reconcile payment discrepancies and resolve unapplied or misapplied cash.
  • Research and resolve customer account issues, including short payments, deductions, and overpayments.
  • Communicate with internal departments (e.g., AR, sales, customer service) to investigate and resolve payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
  • Assist with month-end closing and AR reporting as needed.
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to payments or account status.
  • Work with the collections team to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Follow company policies and accounting standards to maintain financial integrity.
  • Perform duties and fulfill responsibilities that may, from time to time, include related or unrelated tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma required; associate's degree preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years of accounts receivable/collection experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) required
  • Experience with accounting/ERP software (e.g., NetSuite) preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to collections preferred

Competencies:

  • Experience working in a high-volume cash application environment.
  • Familiarity with lockbox, remittance, and electronic payment processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong communication

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Detail-oriented and customer service-oriented
  • Ability to create and maintain cooperative working relationships with other team members
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and other software and web-based applications

Anticipated Travel (may include local, national, and/or international travel):

  • Limited travel (0-10%)
  • Travel to All Staff Company Meeting required
