The Senior Financial Analyst is a critical member of the Sonos Operations Finance team, supporting over 30 cross-functional partners who collectively manage ~$1B in annual COGS. As a trusted advisor to the global operations organization, this role is responsible for delivering core financial processes such as monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and quarterly earnings support. The analyst will provide strategic decision support, including business case modeling and ROI analysis for Operations initiatives, and partner closely with sourcing, logistics, engineering, and accounting. Additionally, this role will play a key part in advancing financial systems, tools, and KPI tracking, helping drive efficiency and margin improvement.

Success in this role requires a strong understanding of the three financial statements, working knowledge of GAAP accounting, and the ability to communicate clearly across global cross-functional teams. Attention to detail, a process improvement mindset, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment are essential. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Operations Finance.

What You'll Do

  • Establish and maintain purchase information records and regularly analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) cost structures at the commodity and functional group levels. Ensure BOM costs integrated into financial forecasts are accurate, complete, and reflect risks and opportunities identified by sourcing, logistics, and engineering teams.

  • Partner with the Inventory Accounting team to recommend and implement expense recognition policies (e.g., cost roll, standard cost amortization) and drive alignment on inventory valuation methodologies to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting.

  • Coordinate with Product and Operations teams to set, review, and update standard costs in alignment with key business milestones such as new product introductions or cost reduction initiatives. Support cost review forums and standard cost updates.

  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving standard costing processes, tools, and system effectiveness across the supply chain and finance functions.

  • Oversee and perform ROI analysis for investments in sustaining products-including both COGS and capital expenditures (CAPEX) such as capacity expansions, consolidations, and design changes. Evaluate financial impacts of key supply chain initiatives and provide actionable insights.

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes by performing actual vs. forecast analyses for COGS accounts (e.g., QoQ, YoY, forecast-to-forecast). Identify variance drivers and incorporate business context to support financial reporting and management insights.

  • Develop a deep understanding of finished goods flow and planning processes at Sonos. Utilize key planning inputs such as the Supply Plan, DC receipts, and Demand Forecast to support financial modeling and operational analyses.

  • Leverage technology to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency, including driving improvements through Anaplan, Tableau, and other finance systems in partnership with Operations Finance and Tech teams.

  • Act as a finance partner for business cases and decision support related to supply chain initiatives and contract negotiations. Responsibilities include reviewing agreements for policy compliance, quantifying financial exposure, and evaluating risks and benefits.
