Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited trade school in (HVACR) heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems or equivalent training. Must have Section 608 Universal EPA Certification. Special courses in electrical, pneumatic, direct digital controls, metasys, facility monitoring/control and power plant systems are desirable. Experience: Four years of journeymen level experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial type (HVACR) systems: Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps. Experience in environmental control systems and the calibration and maintenance of electronic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, troubleshooting, installing, and testing systems (HVACR) equipment. Primary equipment includes: heating, boilers, ventilation, air conditioning, chillers, refrigeration, coolers, freezers, ice machines, compressed air, pneumatics, humidity control, electrical, auxiliary heating/cooling, monitoring and control systems. Accomplishes required services for (HVACR) systems that utilize refrigerants (CFC-HCFC) Performs corrosion control and industrial water treatment on systems and equipment. Utilizes technical publications, diagrams, etc., to accomplish maintenance, repair and the ordering of material and equipment. Responsible for performing single person shift work. Trained to perform facility maintenance (HVACR) and electrical critical tasks to cover single person shift operation. Operating, installing, maintaining, inspecting, testing and repairing engineering facility systems. Systems include electrical, (HVACR), heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, water, facility monitoring systems/controls, variable frequency drives and other associated systems. Maintains operations and maintenance records. Accomplishes shift schedule duties as assigned, including emergency response and janitorial tasks. II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Operates, installs, maintains, repairs and inspects site (HVACR) systems. Primary equipment includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, compressed air, pneumatics, humidity control, and other auxiliary heating and cooling systems. Printed copies of this document may not be current. Refer to InDyne Document Control to verify. 2. Performs corrosion control on (HVACR) systems and industrial water treatment. Accomplishes refrigerant replacement and recovery on (HVACR) equipment which utilizes CFC-HCFC. 3. Utilizes technical publications, diagrams, etc. Maintains operations and maintenance records. 4. Performs single person facility shift work. 5. Operates, installs, maintains, inspects, tests, and repairs engineering facility systems. Systems include electrical, (HVACR), heating ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, water, facility monitoring controls and other associated systems. 6. Utilizes technical publications, diagrams, etc., to accomplish and document maintenance and repair actions. 7. Completes shift schedule duties including emergency response and janitorial tasks. III. SUPERVISION: A. Responsibilities for Work of Others None B. Supervision Received Works under the general supervision of the Facility Lead technician. Work is checked for results achieved. Defines own work assignments within specific guidelines. IV. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: A. Physical Tasks Walking, climbing, lifting not to exceed 50 pounds, negotiating tight places, using tools and equipment, etc., associated with maintaining industrial type systems and equipment. B. Working Conditions Must be able to work any of three 8 hour shifts, or a combination of shifts, as assigned, to cover continuous facility operation. Must be able to work overtime as required.
