Position Summary

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of complex electrical contracting projects. This includes overseeing all aspects of project delivery-from being award and procurement through closeout-ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and client satisfaction while maintaining budgetary and schedule goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Preconstruction



  • Review and finalize estimates with the preconstruction team.
  • Participate in project bid reviews, contract negotiations, and vendor selection.
  • Coordinate project hand-off from estimating to operations.



Project Execution



  • Lead all phases of electrical construction projects, typically valued at $300,00-$4M+.
  • Develop detailed project schedules and work plans.
  • Manage procurement of materials, tools, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, project specifications, and safety standards.



Financial Oversight



  • Monitor and control project budgets, cost forecasting, and billing.
  • Approve vendor invoices and subcontractor payments.
  • Identify and resolve scope changes and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.



Team Leadership



  • Supervise Field Superintendents, Project Foremen.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits and project reviews.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide performance feedback.



Client & Stakeholder Communication



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned projects.
  • Host regular progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues swiftly to maintain project momentum and client satisfaction.



Qualifications

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or related field is preferred but not required, field experience is required
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of progressive experience in electrical project management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.



Skills & Competencies



  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction methods.
  • Excellent budgeting, forecasting, and cost control skills.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Accounting software for data Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.



Work Environment & Physical Demands

Primarily office-based with regular site visits. Must be able to access active construction sites (including climbing ladders, stairs, etc.)
