About the Role

We're hiring a dynamic Associate / Scientific Engagement Manager to lead outreach and engagement efforts across the research community. You'll drive adoption of protocols.io through webinars, training, and direct collaboration with researchers and institutions. This role combines customer success, community building, and strategic communication to grow our presence and impact.

You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to onboard users, present the platform, and gather feedback that informs product development. As part of a small, agile team within Springer Nature, you'll have the opportunity to contribute across multiple functions and help shape the future of research communication.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver outreach activities, including webinars, workshops, and conference representation

  • Support onboarding and engagement for new and existing users

  • Present protocols.io to researchers and decision-makers in virtual and in-person settings

  • Develop and maintain training materials and slide decks

  • Track and report on outreach performance and user engagement

  • Respond to user inquiries and moderate content submissions

  • Share user feedback with the product team to inform improvements

  • Collaborate across teams, including sales, strategic development, and leadership

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in research (PhD preferred but not required)

  • Experience in training, outreach, or science communication

  • Strong presentation and writing skills

  • Passion for science, technology, and open research

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Familiarity with social media and digital engagement tools

  • Experience in marketing or communications is a plus

  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus

  • Knowledge of open science, open access, and publishing trends

  • Wet lab experience is a plus

US Annualized Base Salary Range: Associate Scientific Engagement Manager $80,000 | Scientific Engagement Manager $95,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level, and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
