We are seeking a dedicated Window Cleaning Technician to join our growing Housekeeping Group. This role requires integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Position Overview

The Window Cleaning Technician is responsible for cleaning interior and exterior windows at both the APL campus and offsite properties, on routine and seasonal schedules. This position also assists with related cleaning tasks as needed and works closely with team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-standard results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean interior and exterior commercial windows using industry-standard methods and equipment.
  • Power wash brick, siding, and concrete as needed.
  • Safely operate equipment such as reach poles, ladders, and aerial lifts.
  • Lift, move, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, light rain, snow, and wind.
  • Follow all industry and worksite safety regulations.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and partners, resolving challenges promptly.
  • Prioritize and complete assigned tasks independently or collaboratively.
  • Safely operate APL vehicles for daily tasks.
  • Day Shift (7:30 AM - 3:30 PM), Monday-Friday with some flexibility in schedule

Work Environment

This role involves both indoor and outdoor work. Weather conditions may affect scheduling, and flexibility to switch between interior and exterior tasks is required.


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Have at least 2 years of commercial window cleaning experience.
  • Can stand, walk, reach, stretch, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Can lift 25-40 pounds.
  • Possess strong customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Possess a valid driver's license. If selected you will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Administration review.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Hold US Citizenship or permanent resident status, as required to access APL's facilities and networks, subject to applicable laws.

  • Regularly climb ladders, load/unload equipment, and navigate stairs.
  • Maintain balance, strength, and endurance while working at heights.
  • Remain aware of physical surroundings and personal safety at all times.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
