Purpose

Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of critical manufacturing and distribution equipment for radioactive products, directly supporting the achievement of production schedules and adherence to quality and safety standards.

This position is based in Massachusetts and requires a presence on-site three days per week, and open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Essential Functions

* Equipment Mastery & Troubleshooting:

o Proactively identifies and resolves manufacturing equipment challenges related to operation, maintenance, change control, and validation.

o Leverages in-depth expertise across diverse equipment support areas, including mechanical, electrical, control systems, process control, validation, and industrial and radiological safety.

o Diagnoses and troubleshoots basic to complex equipment malfunctions, performing repairs, calibration, and overhaul as needed.

o Monitors process data using tools like data browsers and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify trends, predict potential problems, and optimize equipment performance.

o Performs technical troubleshooting on a variety of modalities, technologies, and equipment across the facility.

* Maintenance Execution & Optimization:

o Sets priorities and performs preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

o Optimizes processing and reduces downtime by performing predictive and preventative maintenance on all equipment and participating in new equipment installations.

o Coordinates and performs maintenance activities (PMs, work orders, improvement projects) to effectively balance maintenance and production needs.

o Assists in qualification activities related to instrumentation and process improvement projects.

o Reviews preventative maintenance tasks for effectiveness and frequency, recommending continuous improvement changes or Lean practices to management.

o Drives continuous improvement by optimizing the execution of predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance.

* Documentation & Compliance:

o Independently writes and revises manufacturing, testing, maintenance, and provisional process documentation related to pharmaceutical manufacturing.

o Accurately completes documentation, including logbooks, batch production and control records, and maintenance work orders in compliance with cGMPs using the site CMMS and Document Management Systems.

o Ensures all records of maintenance, including replacement parts, calibration, inspections, and other activities, are properly maintained.

o Adheres to and enforces safety practices such as Lockout/Tagout and proper use of PPE.

o Complies with all Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations and other company and industry policies and procedures, including QSR and ISO standards.

* Collaboration & Leadership:

o Utilizes technical knowledge and/or coordinates proper resources to resolve basic to complex manufacturing process problems.

o Organizes and leads project teams or major repair efforts, establishing personal objectives aligned with group and organizational goals.

o Participates in and/or leads fault-finding and root-cause analysis investigations as a technical resource, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product quality and reliability.

o Provides technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.

o Works collaboratively with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other support teams.

* Safety & Quality Focus:

o Actively promotes safety rules and awareness, demonstrating good safety practices at all times, including the appropriate use of protective equipment.

o Reports and takes initiative to correct safety and environmental hazards.

o Makes appropriate decisions to ensure the highest quality standards are met when product is released.

o Maintains a safe work environment by following all safety SOPs and wearing Personal Protective Equipment as required.

* Other Duties:

o Provides coverage on off-hours and holidays to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.

Typical Minimum Skills, Experience, and Education

* Associate's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance)

* Preferably, more than 5 years of related experience in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.

* Proven ability to interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.

* Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills, including PLC knowledge.

* Demonstrated experience with GMP documentation requirements and quality systems.

* Excellent communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

* Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

* Ability to work in a sterile environment and adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation protocols.

* Ability to perform physical tasks that may include lifting weights ranging from 10-35 lbs.

* Ability to engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

* Ability to adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

* Ability to work safely with various tools and equipment, including power tools.

* Willingness to work overtime as needed or after hours.

The pay range for this position is between $64,000 and $96,000 annually.

Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive, and depending on the level of the role may be eligible for a discretionary annual equity award. Benefits for this position include a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Other offerings include life and disability benefits, pre-tax accounts, a 401(k) with company contribution, and a variety of other benefits.
