Job Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven, technically skilled, and people-centered Senior Manager of Cloud Operations to lead our Infrastructure Team during a critical period of modernization and transformation. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, strong operational leadership, and a hands-on approach to managing hybrid infrastructure that includes both legacy enterprise systems and modern cloud-native services.


As a key leader, you will shape the future of our infrastructure services by guiding the transformation of both cloud and legacy platforms. This includes full ownership of compute, storage, networking, and platform operations, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and innovation. You will maintain the integrity of our cloud environment while supporting enterprise services and leading the team through change. By modeling accountability, fostering collaboration, and driving operational excellence, you will ensure clarity, performance, and long-term sustainability across a dynamic hybrid ecosystem.


Position requires a hybrid work model with three days in-office per week. Salary range is $100,000-$125,000 plus 18% annual discretionary bonus.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management


  • Provide direct supervision, performance coaching, and professional development to the Infrastructure Team.


  • Foster an environment of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning while setting clear performance expectations.


  • Define and track OKRs, KPIs, and metrics aligning technical execution with business goals.


  • Partner closely with IT Support and Cybersecurity leadership to ensure associated workflows and shared outcomes.


  • Model leadership through action by engaging directly in implementation, decision-making, and problem-solving.



Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure


  • Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure in alignment with governance and security standards.


  • Steward cloud infrastructure to align performance, scalability, and long-term resilience with business goals.


  • Drive integration of legacy platforms into cloud environments with a focus on technical sustainability and modernization.


  • Collaborate with Development and Data teams to ensure infrastructure supports application, analytics, and processing needs.


  • Champion DevOps alignment by integrating Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and automation into delivery pipelines.



Operational Reliability


  • Lead structured change management, incident response, and alerting protocols to minimize downtime and drive service excellence.


  • Apply monitoring and performance data to ensure availability, efficiency, and responsiveness in a metrics-driven environment.


  • Promote a culture of accountability and urgency, ensuring service levels are consistently met and exceeded.



Security and Compliance


  • Partner with the Cybersecurity to apply secure-by-design principles.


  • Implement and maintain controls aligned with compliance standards and enterprise risk management frameworks.


  • Support continuity and recovery planning with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.



Stakeholder and Vendor Management


  • Serve as the primary operational contact for vendors delivering infrastructure services.


  • Coordinate deliverables and performance oversight in collaboration with the Vendor Management Team.


  • Define, monitor, and report on vendor SLAs to ensure accountability and alignment with organizational standards.



Required Skills & Experience:

Leadership Competency


  • Minimum 7 years in IT operations, including 5+ years in leadership roles.


  • Demonstrated success leading high-performance teams through infrastructure modernization and operational change.


  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information for varied audiences.


  • Proven ability to drive accountability, urgency, and clarity in fast-paced environments.



Technical Expertise


  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience with deep understanding of cloud architecture and services.


  • Strong knowledge of hybrid infrastructure models including physical and virtual servers, networking, and firewalls.


  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and operational monitoring platforms.


  • Skill in vendor oversight, service-level negotiations, and performance metrics reporting.



Certifications & Education


  • Required: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate


  • Preferred: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert


  • Plus: ITIL Foundation or higher


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred)
