This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities:

Provides strategic direction and leadership for the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance departments. Plans, budgets, and implements capital investment projects. Supports a continuous improvement culture that promotes safety, teamwork, and open communications within all levels of the organization. Partner with key leadership and plant personnel to assess current processes and identify process improvement opportunities.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Direct and develop employees within Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance departments while supporting safety as the top priority - in training, job design, ergonomics and regulatory compliance.
• Project management leadership from conception through production release, providing complete solutions for manufacturing improvements, including capital justification, equipment selection, tooling & programming, documentation, and training.
• Work within a team environment to promote Lean Manufacturing, providing leadership in support of Kaizen events based on TPS, TPM, and 6 Sigma methodologies, implementing improvements to reduce costs, improve quality, and reduce process time.
• Collaborate with multiple teams. Collecting, organizing, analyzing and applying data and customer feedback to drive focused continuous improvement activities and ensure best practices are shared across the organization.

Qualifications for the role:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum 8 years experience with processes related to manufacturing, tooling, and gauging methods.

• Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment.
• Demonstrated mechanical design skills, machinery retrofit, and the development of other motor related tooling and equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint - required. SAP, Mini-Tab, Shop Floor Display, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Workday knowledge - desirable.
• Preferred Experience Includes: Lean Manufacturing and/or PMP Certifications and working knowledge of: value-stream mapping, kaizen, six sigma, KPI's, DOE, DMAIC, SPC and previous manufacturing supervisory experience.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
