Job Summary
Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting with dataset creation and validation according to department standards. Assists with building data collection instruments with guidance from more experienced data management team members. Provides support to other members related to data management team deliverables. Assists with the preparation and coordination of data for documentation, status reports, briefings and information inquiries. Interfaces with internal functional teams and external departments related to assignments. Assists with the administration of the REDCap application including end-user account setup, project setup, and periodic user acceptance testing. ***Must reside in Colorado ***
Essential Functions:
- Data Gathering
Assists with the development of electronic data collection instruments considering data integrity principles. Assists with importing/ exporting data from moderately complex sources and systems. (25%) - Data Integrity and Quality
Assists with running quality checks, quality control measures, and monitoring programs related to data accuracy and appropriateness. Conducts basic programming/coding in standard analytical software packages to create and validate analysis datasets, automated processes, macros, and other data output. (20%) - Project Management
Contributes to data management project documentation where appropriate including, but not limited to: project scope, data/ technical requirements, recommended data management plan, data flow diagram, test scripts, traceability matrix, and RACI matrix, and implements solution aligned with data stewardship principles. (15%) - Documentation Management
Maintains general documentation to support audit preparedness, Cornerstone training verification, feedback forms for retraining, reference documents, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs). (15%) - Reporting
Develops and facilitates informal presentations and assists with the development and facilitation of formal presentations and training to internal audiences. (10%) - Customer Support
Assist with the administration of the research application including, but not limited to setting up end-user accounts and testing periodic application updates. (5%) - Policy and Practice
Identifies and resolves system and procedural problems quickly and communicates to management and/or affected users/ team members. (5%) - Training
Assists with the department orientation program, onboarding new employees, and other training, as necessary. Contributes to tracking and achieving overall team metrics according to defined goals. (5%)
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years relevant experience. Relevant experience is defined as: experience contributing to data management solutions in the fields of research, healthcare, data management, data cleaning, and/ or application development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend, and/ or learn database schemas, design, and dictionaries.
- Ability to write, and/ or learn to write basic data querying in programs such as SAS or SQL preferred; experience with other programs may be acceptable.
- Ability to, or quickly learn to validate, troubleshoot, and debug the coding written by other staff.
- Basic critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and fulfill multiple, dynamic, and concurrent projects, and meet deadlines with oversight from management, and/ or more experienced staff.
- Exemplary organizational skills with a strong focus on detail and quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to summarize detailed information in an organized and concise manner.
- Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external customers, and with all roles within the organization.

- Languages: Querying and coding in SQL, SAS, R, Python or a similar language preferred
- Software and technology:
* Intermediate Microsoft Office standard suite proficiency preferred including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Relational database experience preferred
* REDCap experience preferred
* Visio or similar visual diagramming tool experience preferred

Salary $60,200.00 - $90,300.00 / yr
