This position will work 30 hours per week. This position is eligible for benefits associated with any full-time position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.POSITION SPECIFICS Penn State Extension is seeking an Extension Program Specialist to support the Master Watershed Steward (MWS) and Master Well Owner Network (MWON) programs. This role includes managing MWON volunteers statewide and MWS volunteers in four counties, including Wyoming and Susquehanna. These programs provide opportunities for volunteers to receive training in water resources and then assist with outreach and education to the general public on those same topics. Key Responsibilities: * Serve as liaison between Extension staff, volunteers, and community partners * Organize and support volunteer trainings, projects, and recognition * Recruit and coordinate volunteers, ensuring program and affirmative action compliance * Approve volunteer projects and manage program expenses and revenue * Produce newsletters, maintain the MWON website, and track volunteer activity * Evaluate and report on outreach efforts; assist with annual reports * Support public education events and respond to water-related inquiries * Help plan the annual Pennsylvania Groundwater Symposium Qualifications: * Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills (Microsoft Office 365) * Valid driver's license and willingness to travel * Ability to work flexible hours and with diverse audiences * Commitment to equity and inclusion in all programming * Ability to work independently This is 75% Full Time position with 30 hours/week. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: NoneBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
