Position Summary

The Natural Gas Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the implementation and coordination of EGW's Compliance Services operations and working with company management on growth plans for both the Compliance and Field Services groups. The Natural Gas Compliance Manager duties include recruitment and management of EGW contractors and internal OQ Evaluators who provide training and compliance services to customers. The Natural Gas Compliance Manager works with key operator and contractor customers to ensure EGW meets their needs and requirements. This position is also responsible for developing and providing classroom and field training, operator qualification performance evaluations and technical support for EGW Field Services personnel and EGW's compliance customers. This includes the design and construction of stationary and mobile OQ covered task simulation stations to be used in the evaluation process.

Essential Functions/Duties

  • Being responsible for safety and regulatory compliance, staffing, training, contractor development, employee development, process development & improvement, ensuring compliance services profit margin goals are achieved/exceeded, and enforcing company standards and procedures.
  • Having an extensive knowledge of the industry's operator qualification and training needs, governmental regulations, and maintaining industry contacts is critical to the success of this position.
  • Works to find, develop, and maintain an optimal pool of high quality and experienced contractor personnel including trainers, evaluators, and proctors in targeted geographies to provide the highest quality services at the highest profitability.
  • Responsible for the quality of EGW's contractor, field service, and utility training, certifications, and Operator Qualification services. Provides code-compliant technical training for EGW personnel, customers, and evaluators to meet the needs of EGW's provided services.
  • Works with the Field Services Manager and the Project Support Coordinator to manage the implementation and coordination of EGW's personnel training and evaluation services operations, and any action plans which promote growth in the Service Delivery department.
  • This position will be responsible for building relationships within the natural gas services community and staying abreast of industry compliance, equipment, and training trends.
  • Ensures strict adherence to EGW's safety policies and standards by its clients, contractors, and employees when involved in compliance services activities.
  • Manages the relationships with Industrial Training Services (ITS), Energy World Net (EWN), and other OQ platforms.
  • Manages the services portion of EH&S program with the assistance of the Field Service's Foreman.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 or more years of OQ and Training experience
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in the natural gas industry
  • Proven experience meeting or exceeding goals
  • Strong strategic and planning skills
  • Proven ability to develop long term relationships with industry peers
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in financial management and departmental budgeting

Other Requirements

  • As a trainer in a Safety-Sensitive position, pre- and post-employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.
