About The Position The Senior Transmission Technical Advisor is responsible for providing Operations expertise and guidance both inside and outside the department. This position is also responsible for the Transmission Operations' training programs, including the development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive, systematic training program for Operations Personnel. Key responsibilities include:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited University preferred, electrical preferred. Seven or more years of relevant experience (e.g. system operations, transmission protection, project leadership and control engineering) required. Specific experience in transmission operations preferred. Three or more years of supervisory or high-level team/project leadership required. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Excellent oral and written communications skills and computer skills required. Ability to work effectively with conflicting priorities and stressful situations in a team-oriented environment required. Must hold NERC System Operator Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire. Maintain knowledge of generation methods and equipment and transmission systems/equipment and act accordingly. Maintain knowledge of MISO (Midcontinent ISO) operational reliability practices and SERC (NERC regional reliability entity) supplements and their respective policies and act accordingly. Have a working knowledge of MISO's real-time and next day energy markets and market related operations and the Transmission Operations Supervisor role and impact there on. Possess knowledge of interconnected system operations, emergency operations, restoration procedures, generation methods, operating reserve requirements, voltage and VAR control and power flows. Demonstrated ability to use computers and analytical methods to analyze various operational problems. Must pass NERC Cyber Security Background check. Knowledge of EMS / SCADA and or industrial control systems and processes. Competency in Transmission specific computer applications. Additional InformationAmeren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Compensation Range: $128,700.00 - $199,500.00At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
