Southwest Vegetable Seed Sales Manager

Position Overview

We're looking for a dynamic Sales Manager to lead our vegetable seed sales operations across the Southwest region-specifically California, Arizona, and New Mexico. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for driving regional sales strategy, leading a high-performing sales team, and identifying new opportunities to grow market share and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop Sales Teams: Supervise, mentor, and support Sales Representatives across Northern California, Arizona, and New Mexico, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Strategic Sales Management:
  • Oversee pricing strategies, including customized and situational pricing models.
  • Create competitive price quotes and specialized pricing structures as needed.
  • Develop and implement effective sales tools and resources to support field teams.
• Market Planning & Forecasting:
  • Collaborate in sales and product strategy development.
  • Provide accurate forecasting for product development and regional introductions.
• Marketing & Promotion:
  • Guide marketing campaigns and advertising initiatives to maximize regional impact and customer engagement.
  • Coordinate and lead a minimum of two regional sales meetings annually.
• Operational Oversight:
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist in collections as necessary.
  • Manage budgets and selling expenses in alignment with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales, marketing, or team management, preferably within agriculture or agribusiness sectors.
• Proven track record of leadership, team development, and driving profitable sales growth.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
• Must hold a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to travel independently across the region, including overnight stays as needed.
• Flexible to work extended hours during peak seasons.
