EnSafe is hiring a full-time Health and Safety Specialist in a staff augmentation role to support our client in Hartford, CT. This position is a 12-month contract with the opportunity for extensions. What We Are Looking For An experienced Health & Safety Specialist who can translate regulations into clear, site-specific procedures, run effective audits, investigate incidents, and help build a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth. EnSafe emphasizes empowering staff to practice our profession passionately and without limitations. What You Will Be Doing:
- The person hired for this position will primarily perform health & safety (H&S) consulting services including industrial hygiene (air quality, noise, etc.) surveys in various industries (e.g., aerospace, manufacturing, and pulp and paper); indoor air quality surveys; health and safety written program development, safety risk assessments; safety training, and other similar services.
- Proven experience applying OSHA regulations and conducting safety audits and inspections, with the ability to convert findings into site-specific procedures and corrective actions.
- Design and deliver on-site and classroom training for small and large groups; able to present audit findings, lead toolbox talks, and communicate safety expectations clearly to field crews, leadership, and regulators.
- Investigate incidents, perform hazard assessments, and maintain accurate safety documentation and regulatory recordkeeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills-able to produce clear reports, safety plans, and regulatory correspondence.
- Collaborative, detail-focused, and proactive in building a supportive, safety-first culture that encourages continuous improvement.
What You Will Need:
- BA or BS Degree in Occupational Health or environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related Health & Safety field is required.
- 3-5 years of experience of Health and Safety coordination in manufacturing, industrial facilities, or construction sites. EHS consulting experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Experience in Lock Out Tag out, PPE equipment, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Job Safety Analysis, is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong work ethic.

- Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- This position requires analytical thinking, initiative, and accountability.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, kneel, lift 50 lbs., throughout the day with frequent walking throughout a production floor communicating with employee groups.
- Professional certifications are encouraged to be pursued.
