This job posting is hiring to fill one position, either a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant.

Purpose

Physical Therapist: To provide PT services to patients seen at UHS PT department. Provide instruction and supervision for clinical care provided by Physical Therapist Assistant, PT Technician, Athletic Trainer, Student Workers, and /or Student Observers.

Physical Therapist Assistant: Provide Physical Therapy services under the direction of a Physical Therapist to patients seen at UHS PT Department. Assist the supervising physical therapist in duties as assigned. To provide instruction and supervision to PT Technicians, Aides, and student observers/volunteers.

Responsibilities

Physical Therapist

  • Evaluates the neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and functional status of patients referred to the department and applies the appropriate PT treatments.
  • Maintains patient health records.
  • Provides supervisor of clinical care provided by Physical Therapist Assistants, student volunteers, Athletic Trainer, and/or student observers.
  • Maintains a level of knowledge conducive of providing high quality patient care.
  • Exhibits behaviors consistent with organizational values by demonstrating respect and professionalism, adhering to customer service standards and policies, maintaining patient confidentiality, and actively engaging in quality improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern
  • Other related functions as assigned.

Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Provides physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed physical therapist
  • Effectively documents patient treatment in the Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Assists with the supervision of staff and department to ensure patient safety and quality of care
  • Exhibits behaviors consistent with organizational values by demonstrating respect and professionalism, adhering to customer service standards and policies, maintaining patient confidentiality, and actively engaging in quality improvement efforts.
  • Maintains a level of knowledge conducive to providing high-quality patient care
  • Actively participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
  • Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance patterns

Required Qualifications

Physical Therapist

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (PT) from a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation on Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
  • Current Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license to practice as a PT
  • Experience using a personal computer and documenting in an electronic health record
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • CPR certification
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • Current licensure from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Experience using a personal computer and documenting in an electronic health record.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective
  • CPR certification
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Therapist

  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Two or more years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Experience working as a PT in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine setting
  • Experience supervising the clinical work of PT Assistants, PT Technicians, Student Volunteers and /or Athletic Trainers
  • Experience / training / certifications in orthopedic manual therapy
  • Experience / training / certifications in Dry Needling

Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field
  • One or more years of experience working as PTA in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine setting as a PTA
  • Additional certification or training in Manual Therapy, dry needling, or other specialization

Salary Range

Physical Therapist: $75,800 per year
Physical Therapist Assistant: $59,000 per year

Work Shift
