Primary Purpose The Maintenance Tech I is an Apprentice who learns to mitigate and perform production maintenance calls to eliminate or reduce downtime. This candidate will manage the tooling pm area and process. Clean, inspect, store, and stage tooling for production cells. They support preventive maintenance initiatives, including, but not limited to, Robovents, Fans, Make-up Units, Scrubbing, Painting, FRLs, etc. In this role, you will learn to perform maintenance on 480v, 240v, 120v, and 24v,. Duties
- Develop and perform the skill necessary to repair or replace cylinders, cord sets, sensors, air hoses, gas lines, relays, fuses, etc.
- Develop and perform the skill necessary to repair weld leads, etchers, cylinders, Band-IT guns, etc.
- Perform Cleaning of Big Fans, Air Make-Up Filters, Wall Fans, and other air management equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor mechanical maintenance of all equipment as required.
- Support facilities maintenance activity: i.e., painting, plumbing, scrubbing, snow removal, etc.
- Utilize SAP to close work orders and preventive maintenance orders.
- Perform job duties per company policies, procedures, and work instructions pertaining to ISO 14001 and Tenneco Safety requirements.
- Communicate tooling damage/wear issues to Maintenance Supervisor for resolution.
- Other duties assigned as required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Two (2) years of manufacturing experience is preferred, one (1) year experience required.
- Ability to achieve a 1.5 Training Matrix Rating within six (6) months of hire.
- Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Operating Products, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., plus experience with SAP would be a benefit.
- Demonstrate mechanical and logical thought ability.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use the proper hand tools safely and effectively.
- Shall show strong evidence of using diversified and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision and respond to directions and job assignments.

- Ability to maintain licensing for fork truck/scrubber and overhead aerial equipment.

- Shall learn and use SAP to close work orders and, as necessary, input IW21 Notifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Will be working in cramped environments, such as the inside cabinets of Robovents.
- Will be exposed to Weld Dust which container CrIII and trace elements of CrVI, while being provided Tyvek full suit, N95/N100 Compliant Full-Face Respirator, and other PPE.
- Possible skin exposure to Weld Dust, Paints, Chemicals, Cleaners, and other industrial fluids, all registered in the on-site MSDS.
- Will be working in lifts and expected to have no issues working over equipment near the ceiling and at elevations.
- Will be working with various types of paints, Alkyd, Enamel, Acrylic, Urethane, Epoxy, and others, as necessary.
Need For Driving or Travel On infrequent occasions, the manager may assign a short trip to travel by automobile or commercial carrier to attend meetings, training, conferences, customer visits, or other plants.
